And we’re back with the awesome Kinsella-esque series. Today, we’ll take a look at a band which was recommended to me by my good friends. The Six Parts Seven have been around since 1995 and they’ve got 5 studio albums already under their belt.
Things Shaped in Passing, the band’s 3rd release, is actually the first album that I heard from this awesome band. Let me say this upfront, Things Shaped In Passing moved me. Sure it’s post-rock and all the post-rock elements are there, but I think The Six Parts Seven really gets the swooping, epic-feel of post-rock. Sure, it’s long and it’s boring; but beyond that is a whopping 41 minutes of roaring emotions expressed through instruments.
So, yeah. Position your pillows beneath your bed and fight back those evil tears.
