I could spit on a stranger.

Mumblecore, Dumblecore, Stuttercore, Hardcore.

I think the word for the week should be “Mumblecore.” I mean, we just constantly find unusual ways to use the word. It’s our latest addiction. We even coined some possible Mumblecore hybrids.

Dumblecore is Harry Potter + Mumblecore. Basically, it’s about twentysomething hip wizards and witches getting drunk over Butterbeers as they try to get through problems like working for the Ministry of Magic and being overshadowed by the staple emo boy of the wizarding world: Harry Potter.

Ron and Hermione are so Dumblecore.
(shit that drunk Rupert Grint face is hilarious.)

As to how core Mumblecore films could go… we’ll they’re not that good as the hype and reviews build them. I mean, they’re likable because of the style and effort. But beyond that, it’s a bit Meh. But they’re so addicting and we just kept downloading Mumblecore films. We already have another Joe Swanberg film, LOL (Mumblecore about relationships over the internet and cellphones) and Francis is working on getting a copy of Aaron Katz’ Quiet City (Before Sunrise/Sunset rip-off. But it’s Mumblecore)

Although it really is amazing and hilarious at the same time how in the short span of 2 days of watching 2 Mumblecore films, we managed to get Mumblecored. Or Funny, Haha-ed. Mumblecore really is a pretty straight up look at the lives of teh generation hip. Slackers like us. Geeks and Nerds looking for affection. Which is why we got inspired to create something Mumblecore, but not really Mumblecore.

Francis and I are still talking about it, but from what we’ve unearthed from our playful little minds, it’ll be something Mumblecore mixed with all the filmmakers that we like. So, it’ll be something that plays between the likes of Kevin Smith, Wes Anderson, Noah Baumbach, Woody Allen, and Mumblecore. As of now, there’s a lot of ideas just waiting to be written down to paper. I mean, we get these scenes inside our heads; small talk moments, various conversations about music; how at one scene the characters would be talking as Night of the Living Dead will be softly playing on the background. You know, random stuff.

Besides that, there’s also something that’s keeping me occupied for now. As of now, I’m still transferring the footage from last night; hopefully I’ll be able to create something out of this 60-minute footage of people drinking alcohol, smoking, karaoke-ing, and talking. Hopefully, it’ll be something a bit… Mumblecore.

This is so getting random. Oh! My Requiem for a Dream Director’s Cut download just got finished! Awesome!
